EventSnap ("we", "our", or "us") operates the EventSnap mobile application and website at eventsnapapp.live. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By using EventSnap you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Photos and videos. When you join an event and upload photos or videos, those files are stored in our secure cloud storage. They are associated with the event you joined and are visible to other guests of that event and the event host.

Your name. When you join an event as a guest you are asked to provide a display name. This name is stored alongside your uploads and is visible to the event host.

Email address. If you create an event or sign up for a host account, we collect your email address to identify your account and send you event-related notifications.

Face biometric data (optional). EventSnap offers an optional face tagging feature that allows guests to find photos of themselves. If you choose to use this feature, a photo of your face is processed by AWS Rekognition to generate a facial recognition vector. This data is used solely to match you with photos from the event. Your consent is required before any face data is collected, and you can opt out at any time. Face data is deleted when the event is deleted or when you request erasure.

Usage data. We collect basic usage information such as the number of photos uploaded per event and the number of unique guests. This data is aggregated and used to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate and deliver the shared photo gallery service
To allow event hosts to manage their events and download photos
To enable optional face tagging so guests can find photos of themselves
To send event-related communications to hosts
To improve and maintain the EventSnap platform

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

With other event guests. Photos and videos you upload are visible to all guests of the same event and to the event host.

With service providers. We use the following third-party services to operate EventSnap:

Supabase — database and file storage (EU and US regions)
AWS Rekognition — face matching for the optional face tagging feature
Netlify — application hosting and serverless functions
Stripe — payment processing for Premium event upgrades

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

4. Data Retention

Photos, videos, guest names, and face data associated with an event are retained until the event host deletes the event. When an event is deleted, all associated photos, videos, face data, and guest records are permanently deleted from our systems.

Host account data (email address, event history) is retained for as long as the account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your personal data at any time
Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data
Right to object — you can object to certain types of processing
Right to withdraw consent — for face biometric data, you may withdraw consent at any time and your face data will be deleted

6. Children's Privacy

EventSnap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to event data is restricted to authenticated hosts and guests of that specific event.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of EventSnap after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
